Money

The złoty (abbreviated PLN or zł) is the official currency in Poland. The approximate average exchange rate (14 May 2024) is 4.26 złoties to a euro (or 3.94 złoties to a US dollar). The latest exchange rates for all major currencies are available here.

Electricity

Polish sockets are standard European sockets, with a voltage of 230 V/50 Hz. All visitors coming from countries using appliances/plugs that do not work with such sockets/voltages (especially American and British guests) are advised to bring adapters.

Telephones

All European mobiles will work without problems. High speed internet is available throughout the urban area, but charges may apply for visitors from outside the European Union; please check with your operator to avoid unexpected costs.

Weather

Polish weather is usually agreeable in June, with temperatures of around 20 °C during the day. With worse luck, a raincoat and umbrella may find some use. Current forecast is available here.
